About
Reflux management shouldn't mean guessing
Most acid reflux advice online is generic: "avoid spicy food, don't eat late." RefluxGuard exists because that's not enough once you actually know your condition — GERD, LPR, Barrett's, and pregnancy-related reflux all behave differently, and what's safe for one isn't safe for another.
What we built
RefluxGuard rates ingredients across ten world cuisines for reflux risk — not just "spicy = bad," but the actual mechanism behind each rating: acidity, fat content, effect on the lower esophageal sphincter. It pairs that with a health tracker, a deep guide to eight distinct reflux-related conditions, an evidence-rated remedies library, and a community of people managing the same thing.
What RefluxGuard is not
RefluxGuard is an educational and tracking tool, not a medical provider. It doesn't diagnose, prescribe, or replace a gastroenterologist. If you have symptoms that concern you — difficulty swallowing, unintentional weight loss, vomiting blood, or chest pain — see a doctor, not an app.
Where the information comes from
Condition and ingredient information reflects generally accepted, publicly documented mechanisms of GERD and related conditions (LES function, pH sensitivity, known dietary triggers). It's written for clarity and everyday use, not as a substitute for peer-reviewed literature or a clinician's judgment about your specific case.
